The Taraba State Police Command said it is investigating a 67-year-old man Ahmadu Garba and two others for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl and forcing her to work as commercial sex worker
Garba was paraded along with Abubakar Bala and Suleiman Ahmadu by the police in Jalingo.
Dateline Nigeria learnt that Garba, who works as a guard at a filling station, found the girl wandering at the Jalingo motor park and decided to turn her into a sex slave for three months.
“After raping her repeatedly, the man invited his friends and decided to start collecting money from people to allow them to rape her,” a source told Dateline Nigeria.
The source added that the suspects were also forcing the young girl to hawk and run errands for them during the day.
The spokesman for the Taraba State Police Command, DSP David Misal, who confirmed the matter, said they are trying to conclude investigation and arraign the suspects in court.
He said Garba had been hiring out the minor to a man who usually went away with her in his car to have sex with her, adding that the police are closing in on him.
