Governor Inuwa Yahaya hails appointment of Dr. Abdullahi Bello as CCB chairman

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has commended the appointment and subsequent inauguration of an illustrious son of Gombe, Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello as the new Chairman of the National Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

Governor Inuwa Yahaya, who expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for selecting Dr. Bello, described the new CCB Chairman as a “round peg in a round hole” due to his exceptional qualifications and relevant expertise.

He praised the appointment as a proud moment for Gombe State, affirming that it reflects the state’s commitment to producing outstanding professionals who contribute meaningfully to national development.

Governor Inuwa, who encouraged Dr. Bello to remain steadfast and diligent in his responsibilities, expressed optimism that his leadership will positively impact the CCB’s mission of promoting ethical governance.

He assured the new appointee of the support and goodwill of the government and people of Gombe State as he undertakes this significant national responsibility.

Abdullahi Bello, a 50-year-old indigene of Gombe State, brings extensive experience and academic qualifications to his new role.

He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the United Kingdom and a Certified Fraud Examiner in the United States.

Dr. Bello holds a PhD in Anti-Money Laundering Compliance from Northumbria University, UK, underscoring his expertise in financial regulation and forensic practices.

Over the years, Abdullahi Bello has held key roles in anti-corruption efforts, anti-money laundering operations, financial intelligence analysis, forensic accounting, and financial investigation. His professional experience spans areas critical to ensuring public sector compliance, a core responsibility of the CCB.
