The new Jigawa State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Muhammad Danjuma (CC) has assumed duty.
He took over from Musa Alhaji Mala who reached the mandatory retirement age of 60 as enshrined in the public service rules, the Command’s Public Relations Officer CSC Adamu Shehu said in a statement.
An expert in the field of Crime Management, Prevention and Control, the newly deployed State Commandant was formerly the Head of Operations at the Zonal Command Head Office, Zone ‘N’ comprising of Kano and Jigawa States respectively.
He has served the Corps at various capacities including Head of Operations, Disaster Management, Administration, Intelligence, Finance, Anti-Vandal among others.
He also worked in many States amongst which include Nassarawa, FCT, Akwa Ibom, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kano, Benue, Delta, and Plateau. The State Commandant is from Keffi LGA, Nassarawa State.
Addressing the Management of the Command shortly after taking over, he charged them to put the security of the State first before any other thing and promise to operate an open door policy where positive submissions are welcomed.
He also warned against indiscipline, dereliction of duty and non-performance, “the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Audi Abubakar, PhD is passionate about our overall welfare and is working assiduously towards its improvement as such we must reciprocate by working hard and executing the corps mandate”, the Commandant added.
He lamented the recent kidnappings and other security breaches in the State and promise to key into the existing security architecture with a view to finding a lasting solution
