Abbas sad over demise of Islamic scholar, Sheikh Mainasara Liman

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D, GCON, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of a Zaria-based renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Mainasara Liman Habibi.

The late Sheikh Mainasara Liman, who hailed from Tudun Wada, Zaria, and was the National Chairman of the Preachers Committee of the Fityanul Islam, died on Saturday, aged 67.

The Speaker, in a condolence message through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, described the late Islamic scholar as a committed and dedicated cleric who used his entire life to promote Islamic scholarship and service to humanity.

Speaker Abbas recalled how the late Sheikh Mainasara Liman used his God-given knowledge to champion the Quranic translation and jurisprudence, noting that the late cleric would be sorely missed.

He noted that Sheikh Mainasara Liman was an advocate for a better life for orphans, the less-privileged, and other vulnerable people in Zaria and beyond.

The statement added that the late cleric left an indelible mark in the sand of time — a legacy of religious tolerance, promotion of peaceful coexistence among the people, championing Islamic scholarship, and living an exemplary life.

“The life of Sheikh Mainasara Liman Hibibi was one full of positive lessons to the Muslim Ummah and beyond. His dedicated teachings and preachings have resonated well with the masses, particularly the Islamic faithful.

“He lived a life full of inspiration. By establishing and teaching in different Islamic schools at different locations, Sheikh Mainasara Liman ensured the spread of good Islamic culture and awareness. He inspired hope, compassion, and kindness in his teachings.

“He may be no more, but the legacy he leaves behind will remain with us and be passed on to generations yet unborn.

“I pray to Allah (SWT) to have mercy on his soul, forgive and reward him with Jannatul Firdausi,” the Speaker said.

Speaker Abbas also sent his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Islamic scholar, the Zazzau Emirate, the people, and government of Kaduna State over the loss.
