
The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has successfully carried out hernia surgeries on eleven (11) inmates at the Kuje Custodial Centre, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The procedures were conducted by a team of skilled Correctional medical personnel on the 8th and 9th of June, 2025
The medical outreach, executed with utmost professionalism and adherence to established clinical standards, exemplifies the NCoS resolve to ensure that inmates have access to quality healthcare services in line with global best practices and human rights protocols.
Commending the medical team for their professionalism and dedication, the Controller of Corrections, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Controller OD Ajibogun, reiterated that the health and general well-being of inmates remain a top operational priority.
He noted that the exercise not only relieved the affected inmates of pain and discomfort but also contributed significantly to improving their overall quality of life while in custody.
The Controller further stated that the successful conduct of the surgeries is a clear reflection of the vision and commitment of the Controller General of Corrections, CGC SN Nwakuche, MFR, to reform, rehabilitate, and reintegrate inmates into the society as responsible and productive citizens.
