The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has applauded the far reaching transformations taking place in the Ministry of Interior under the leadership of the Honourable Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
During an official visit to the Minister today 19 August, 2025, the Corps Marshal stressed the devastating effects of road traffic crashes on Nigeria’s population, noting that the challenge of safety requires a multidimensional and multisectoral approach.
He further emphasized that road safety is a collective responsibility and reaffirmed the FRSC’s readiness to strengthen partnerships with critical stakeholders to curb the menace.
Highlighting FRSC’s recent strides in technology with the full adoption of a paperless electronic document management system, the Corps Marshal extended an invitation to the Minister for the 8th Annual FRSC Lecture Series and the forthcoming International Road Crash Victims Africa Conference.
In response, the Minister emphasised the critical role of road safety in human development, urging for stronger preventive measures rather than corrective actions in reducing crashes. He called for sustained collaboration to bring down the curve of road traffic crashes in Nigeria.
