The Kaduna State Hisbah Command notes with appreciation the ongoing registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which covers new voter registration,
transfer of voter details, corrections of personal information, and related updates.
This process is fundamental to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy and ensuring that every eligible citizen has the opportunity to participate fully in the electoral system.
The Command therefore calls on members of the general public to take advantage of this exercise and present themselves at designated registration centres across the nation.
We encourage citizens who have recently clocked 18 years of age to seize this opportunity and register as firsttime voters.
Registering to vote is not only a constitutional right, but also a civic responsibility that empowers citizens to make their voices heard in shaping the future of our nation.
We further appeal to parents, guardians, community leaders, civil society groups, and religious institutions to mobilise support and sensitisation for this exercise.
Encouraging youth and new voters to register is an investment in the democratic process and in the long term peace and stability of our society. Every eligible person registered is a step forward towards a more inclusive and representative democracy.
The Hisbah Command equally reminds all residents that participating in the electoral process goes beyond voting; it begins with ensuring that one’s details are correctly captured in the INEC register.
We advise the public to make necessary corrections or transfers where applicable, to avoid disenfranchisement during future elections.
As a body committed to promoting discipline, social order, and civic responsibility, we will continue to partner with relevant stakeholders in encouraging law-abiding participation in all constitutional processes.
We believe that when citizens perform their civic duties responsibly, society is strengthened and governance becomes more responsive to the needs of the people. We therefore urge every eligible citizen not to miss this opportunity. Your vote is your voice, make sure it counts.
