Police arrest five fake cops in Kano

The Kano Police Command has successfully apprehended a notorious syndicate of fake Police Officers in a significant operation driven by credible intelligence.

On 16th October 2025, at about 1:00 pm, operatives from the Command’s Special Intervention Squad (SIS) acted swiftly and arrested the following suspects while parading themselves as Police Officers:

  • Aliyu Abbas, 35 years old
  • Sani Iliyasu, 47 years old
  • Ashiru Sule, 41 years old
  • Abubakar Yahaya, 45 years old
  • Adamu Kalilu, 45 years old

The suspects were found in possession of several incriminating items, including a fake Police Warrant Card, Handcuffs, Two Thousand Five Hundred (2,500) in CFA, mutilated Naira notes of different denominations, and their operational vehicle, a blue Peugeot 406 with registration number NSR-189-BD.
