NSCDC, Save The Children deepen partnership to advance safe school initiative

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has strengthened its collaboration with Save the Children following a high-level courtesy visit by the Country Director, Duncan Harvey, to the Corps’ National Headquarters in Abuja.

The visit reinforced the longstanding partnership between both organisations, particularly in supporting the National Safe Schools Response Coordination Centre (NSSRCC), a critical hub for safeguarding educational institutions across the country.

During the engagement, the Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, and his management team held strategic discussions with the delegation on expanding areas of cooperation, including forthcoming support initiatives and an anticipated visit by founding partners from Norway.

The Commandant General commended Save the Children for its sustained commitment, noting that the collaboration remains vital to strengthening the protection of students nationwide. He also highlighted key priorities to enhance the operational efficiency of the NSSRCC.

The delegation was later conducted round the Centre’s state-of-the-art control room, where they observed its real-time monitoring and rapid response capabilities.
