Kano police recover stolen motorcycle, arrest suspect

The Kano State Police Command wishes to inform the public of the arrest of a motorcycle theft suspect and the recovery of a stolen motorcycle in Badawa Quarters, Kano.

On 9th April 2026, at about 05:30pm, the Command received credible information that one Abdullahi A. Abdulhamid, male, aged 43, of Tishama Hotoro Quarters, went to Badawa Quarters near Nazalco Filling Station and stole a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, red in colour, with registration number SRA 306 VF, belonging to one Rabiu Muhammad of Gezawa LGA.

Upon receipt of the report, Police officers were immediately mobilized for rapid response. The suspect was intercepted and arrested along Arewa Surgery by Ring Road in Badawa Quarters after being involved in an accident. He was brought to the Police Station alongside the recovered motorcycle for investigation. The suspect will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis, commends the swift action of the officers and sincerely appreciates members of the public whose timely information led to the prompt arrest of the suspect and recovery of the stolen motorcycle.

CP Bakori further called on motorcycle and tricycle operators to be more cautious with their properties, as they often fall victims of deceit which leads to the loss of their means of livelihood. He urged them to avoid handing over their motorcycles to strangers and to always park in secure locations.

The Command reaffirms its commitment to ridding the State of all forms of crime and criminality.
