The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Bauchi State Chapter, has invited Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed to join the party in the best interest of the state and democracy.
The party assured the governor and his supporters of a stable platform free from internal crises and litigation.
Speaking at a press conference in Bauchi, State Chairman Abdurrahman Yusuf Mu’azu, alongside the National Coordinator of the PRP Glory Restoration Group, Barrister Sufyanu Gambo Idris, and hundreds of supporters, expressed readiness to receive Governor Mohammed and his followers.
“We want to assure him that his political interests and those of his followers will be fully accommodated within the PRP,” Mu’azu said.
“We are committed to providing an inclusive platform where experienced politicians like Governor Bala Mohammed can continue to serve and contribute to national development. Our doors are open, and we look forward to building a united and strong political future together — even if we have to surrender our position to him,” the chairman added.
On his part, Barrister Sufyanu Gambo Idris described the PRP as a credible and peaceful platform for the governor and his supporters ahead of future elections.
He said the party is committed to restoring its glory and is known for unity and the absence of factional disputes, making it an attractive option for aspirants.
“Our party has no leadership tussles or court cases. We guarantee fairness, transparency, and a level playing field for all members,” he said.
The national coordinator noted that the PRP remains open to all politicians, including the governor and his loyalists. “The PRP provides an opportunity to contest without fear of internal crisis or legal battles,” he added.
The invitation comes amid reports of Governor Bala Mohammed’s imminent defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Both the NDC and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are also reportedly wooing the governor.
The governor and the PDP are said to be continuing consultations on alternative political platforms following reported irreconcilable differences within the PDP. Their discussions with the APC have reportedly stopped.
