The Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Barau Jibrin, has distributed 47 vehicles and 287 motorcycles to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano North Senatorial District to boost grassroots empowerment.
Jibrin, represented by the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Salihu Sagir-Takai, during the distribution on Wednesday in Kano, said the gesture was in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said the items were meant to ease economic hardship and improve the livelihood of beneficiaries, including APC Local Government Chairmen, Secretaries and other party stakeholders in the district.
“This is not the first time we are carrying out such an intervention, and it will certainly not be the last,” he said.
In the same vein, Chief of Staff to the Deputy President of the Senate, Prof. Muhammad Ibn-Abdullahi, said the initiative was a capital-intensive intervention to promote self-reliance and reduce poverty.
He urged the beneficiaries not to sell the items, instead, they should utilise them productively to generate income.
On his part, Barau’s media aide, Shittu Madaki, said the distribution was carefully carried out among selected beneficiaries, adding that more empowerment programmes were underway. (NAN)
