Senior government officials gathered at the University of Abuja on Thursday for the Renewed Hope Conversation, a fireside chat aimed at connecting government leaders with young Nigerians on national development and leadership.
The event, hosted by APC National Youth Leader Dayo Israel, brought together the Minister of State for Regional Development Uba Maigari Ahmadu, Minister of Education Maruf Tunji Alausa, Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy Hannatu Musa Musawa, and other senior officials.
Speaking during the session, Ahmadu outlined the mandate and ongoing work of the Ministry of Regional Development.
He highlighted achievements of the regional development commissions, particularly in the North-East, including recently commissioned projects, current interventions, and key infrastructure initiatives.
He also stressed that the newly established commissions are strategically positioned to drive inclusive growth across all regions of the country, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The government remains committed to advancing sustainable development across all regions,” Ahmadu said, reaffirming the administration’s focus on balanced growth and equitable opportunities.
The conversation extended beyond policy to leadership and mentorship, with a question-and-answer segment designed to inspire students and equip them with the mindset needed for nation-building.
Dayo Israel said the forum was intended to create “meaningful engagement” between government and young Nigerians, offering students direct access to policymakers and insight into how public institutions operate.
The Renewed Hope Conversation forms part of the administration’s outreach to youth, with organisers saying more editions will be held across universities nationwide in the coming months.
