The Federal Government is intensifying efforts to expand access to inclusive and quality basic education through the 2026 Basic Education in Nigeria Bootcamp (BEN-B)/Summit in Jos, Plateau State, organised in collaboration with development partners and the Plateau State Government.
Scheduled for 28th to 30th April 2026 at Crispan Hotel, Jos, the Bootcamp will convene policymakers, education administrators, and stakeholders to develop practical solutions for reducing out-of-school children and strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy.
Led by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, and the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Sai’d Ahmad, the initiative aligns with national efforts to improve access to quality learning. Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, will deliver the keynote address.
With the theme focused on inclusive education, the Bootcamp builds on previous editions to drive evidence-based implementation across states. Progress reviews show improvements in community learning centres, open schooling, and data tracking systems.
The initiative aligns with ongoing reforms including NEDI, LIN, and expanded TVET programmes, while promoting collaboration to ensure every Nigerian child has access to education.
