President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, on his 60th birthday, describing him as an excellent communicator and a key figure in promoting the administration’s policies.
Idris turns 60 on May 2, 2026.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Tinubu commended Idris for bringing “finesse, credibility, and gravitas” to public communication since joining his government.
“Mohammed is an excellent communicator, public relations executive, and media leader who has brought finesse, credibility, and gravitas to public communication in our administration,” the President said.
Tinubu noted Idris’s track record in the media industry as founder and publisher of Blueprint Newspapers, as well as chairman of a successful public relations consultancy and broadcast outfit.
He also highlighted Idris’s service as general secretary of the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria (NPAN) before his ministerial appointment, calling it evidence of his patriotism and commitment to nation-building.
The President praised the minister’s diligence and steadfastness in communicating the achievements, policies, and programmes of the administration, particularly the message of Renewed Hope across the country.
“As Mohammed celebrates this milestone birthday, I join his family and friends in wishing him more years of good health and strength as he continues to serve the nation,” Tinubu added.
