A political support group known as Matasan Arewa for Tinubu 2027 has appointed former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as its grand patron.
Dateline Nigeria reports that the group, led by its Convener Mahmud Babaliya Aftaka, presented Ganduje with his certificate in a ceremony on Monday.
The group used the opportunity to inform Dr Ganduje of the First Arewa Youths Colloquium for Tinubu slated for June 23-24, 2026 at Bola Ahmed Tinubu Conference Centre Abuja. The theme is Renewed Hope Agenda and its sustainability in the North.
President Bola Tinubu is expected to serve as Special Guest of Honour at the event which has Vice President Kashim Shettima as Chairman and APC National Chairman Prof Nentawe Yilwatda as Chief Host.
Hon Aftaka thanked Dr Ganduje for accepting to serve as the group’s patron, noting that his nomination was unanimously agreed approved by members of the group.
Responding, Dr Ganduje assured the group of maximum support, urging them to use their number and energy into the campaign for President Tinubu’s reelection.
