APC aspirant Abin Al-Ajabin Zazzau quits race for Kaduna Reps seat

A former aspirant for the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Mahmud Sadis Buba, also known as Abin Al-Ajabin Zazzau, has withdrawn from the race.

Buba announced his withdrawal in a statement shared on Saturday via his official Facebook page titled “Re: Voluntary Withdrawal from the Race for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, House of Representatives.”

In the statement, he said the decision to step down was taken after consultations with family, political associates and party stakeholders, noting that it was influenced by reconciliation efforts within the party.

“Please accept this letter as formal notification that I am withdrawing from the race for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, House of Representatives, effective immediately,” he said.

He added that the move was aimed at strengthening unity within the All Progressives Congress, stressing the need for the party to rally behind a single candidate ahead of the general election.

“This was not an easy decision. But it was hastened by the reconciliation efforts initiated by stakeholders and leaders of our party,” he said.

Buba also expressed appreciation to the leadership of the APC in Kaduna State, including Governor Uba Sani, for the opportunity to participate in the nomination process.

“I want to thank the leader of our party, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, CON, and the leadership of the party in Kaduna State for the opportunity to have participated in the nomination process,” he said.

He urged his supporters to remain calm and support the party’s eventual candidate, adding that his withdrawal should not be seen as weakness but as a sacrifice for party unity.

“I ask my supporters to remain calm, united, and to throw their full weight behind the party’s decision and whoever emerges as the party’s candidate,” he said.

Buba reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, saying he remained committed to ensuring the party’s victory at the polls.

His withdrawal comes amid public discussions over allegations of age falsification linked to conflicting documents circulating online, although no official indictment has been made against him.

He had recently completed screening by the APC for the House of Representatives seat, where he appeared before party officials in traditional attire. His youthful appearance generated public reactions during the exercise, where he confirmed he is 30 years old, the firstborn of nine siblings, and said he entered the race following calls from his community to serve.
