Stakeholders in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State have pledged support for Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s senatorial ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections under the platform of the Kaura Movement.
Speaking at the unveiling of the group in Alkaleri LGA, the leader of the team, Alhaji Mohammed Bello Maiwada, said the movement would mobilize support for the governor’s bid to represent Bauchi South Senatorial District.
Maiwada, who is also the Commissioner for Natural Resources Development, described Governor Bala as a committed democrat and grassroots politician whose administration has delivered meaningful developmental projects across the state.
He said stakeholders and residents of Bauchi South were fully prepared to rally behind the governor through the Kaura Movement.
According to him, all seven local government areas in Bauchi South, and indeed the entire state, have benefited from the governor’s projects and people-oriented policies. He described Bala Mohammed as “a visionary leader with a proven track record.”
Maiwada explained that the Kaura Movement was established as a political structure to promote the senatorial ambition of “Kauran Bauchi” and other aspirants contesting under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in 2027.
The movement, he added, comprises respected elders, youth, women’s groups, political stakeholders, and intellectuals from across the zone, all working to strengthen the party’s political fortunes and ensure continued democratic leadership in the state.
He assured party supporters of the movement’s loyalty and commitment to securing victory for Governor Bala Mohammed and all APM candidates in the forthcoming elections. He also urged the people of Bauchi South and the state at large to sustain their support, unity, and cooperation to achieve political victory in 2027.
Several speakers at the rally passed a vote of confidence in Governor Bala’s leadership and expressed optimism about his chances in the election. They attributed their support to his “record of good governance, technocratic competence, and developmental achievements across the state.”
The speakers said Bala’s experience and leadership qualities would help advance the interests of Bauchi South at the national level if he is elected senator. They also called on eligible citizens to take advantage of INEC’s ongoing third phase of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise to participate in the 2027 elections.
Commending the formation of the Kaura Movement, they described it as a timely initiative for fostering unity and strategic political coordination within the party, and pledged to work tirelessly for its success and that of all APM candidates.
The unveiling ceremony drew party loyalists, community leaders, youth organizations, and women’s groups from across Bauchi State, who said the movement would enhance political participation and strengthen democratic engagement in the state.
