Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has hosted former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo in Enugu for talks on education, healthcare and sustainable development in the state.
Mbah said the meeting focused on the state’s Smart Green Schools initiative, a solar-powered project being rolled out across all 260 wards in Enugu.
He explained that the schools are designed to provide modern learning environments while integrating essential healthcare services for children.
“Beyond providing a modern learning environment, these schools are designed to integrate essential healthcare services for children, ensuring that education and wellbeing go hand in hand,” the governor said.
Mbah disclosed that Osinbajo commended Enugu’s commitment to education, particularly its education budget, which he noted is among the highest allocations by any state in the country.
“I appreciate Professor Yemi Osinbajo’s kind words and recognition of Enugu State’s bold commitment to education,” Mbah said.
He added that the commendation reinforces the state’s resolve to keep investing in a future driven by knowledge, innovation and opportunity for every child in Enugu.
The Smart Green Schools project is part of Mbah’s administration’s broader plan to transform basic education and improve health outcomes at the grassroots level.
