A Nigerian web developer, Aminu Kurami, has unveiled a website dedicated to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing the initiative as a personal effort to preserve the former leader’s legacy for future generations.
Kurami disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) saying the project was inspired by his desire to create a lasting digital archive of Buhari’s life, leadership and public service.
According to him, although he was not related to the late president, he held him in high esteem for his commitment to national service and believed that the contributions of Nigeria’s leaders should be documented and preserved.
“The website is a tribute to President Buhari’s life and legacy. It is designed to serve as a reliable platform where Nigerians, students, researchers and future generations can easily access information about his public service,” he said.
Kurami explained that the website features Buhari’s biography, leadership journey, major achievements, speeches, photographs and significant events from his years in public office.
He said the project took several months to complete, involving extensive research, planning, content development and website design before it was published.
The developer added that he relied on official government publications, credible news organisations, historical records, published books and other reputable reference materials to ensure the accuracy of the information on the website.
According to him, the most challenging aspect of the project was organising Buhari’s decades-long career in both the military and democratic eras into a balanced, accurate and easy-to-understand historical record.
Kurami noted that President Buhari remained one of Nigeria’s most significant political figures, having served both as military Head of State and as a democratically elected President.
He expressed the hope that the website would contribute to preserving Nigeria’s history by providing a credible digital resource for anyone interested in learning about the late leader’s life and contributions. (NAN)(
