
The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has assured the Ataoja of Osogbo of the Corps’ readiness to protect Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) and support a peaceful electoral process in Osun State.
During a courtesy visit to the Ataoja, His Royal Majesty Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, the CG urged traditional institutions and other stakeholders to sensitise youths against being used as tools for electoral violence, thuggery and other forms of misconduct.
Professor Audi also stressed that inter-agency synergy remains central to the success of the security architecture, urging security agencies to work together, share intelligence and maintain coordinated operations before, during and after the election.
Later in the evening, the CG addressed NSCDC personnel deployed for the election, charging them to uphold discipline, professionalism, neutrality and the Rules of Engagement.
He commended their readiness and urged them to sustain the spirit of professionalism, camaraderie and operational synergy with sister agencies, assuring that the Corps remains fully prepared to deliver on its mandate and safeguard lives, property and critical national assets throughout the electoral period.
