
The Federal University Dutse has received two research grants totaling N53million through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (Tetfund) National Research Fund(NRF) to find solutions to the prevailing insecurity in as well checkmate the spread of mosquitoes in the country.
The lead Researchers are Professor Ado Garba Jangargari and Professor Joshua Balogun.
Prof Jangargari research project titled: “Tech for Peace: Engaging Northern Pastoralists Non-Agricultural Livelihoods to Counter Banditry and Kidnapping ” won the sum of N25 million.
Professor Balogun’s research project titled ” Development of Indoor Carbon Dioxide Sequestration Machine (iCor-SeMa) for Diversionary Control of Mosquitoes in Nigeria” won the sum of N28 million.
The two research grants will run for 24 months.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ahmad Muhammed Gumel congratulates the two researchers and urged them to stick to the timeline adding that more grants are coming to the university because Academic staff have been sensitized to access NRF and other grants around the world.
