The State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Yobe State Command, CN Mannir Mustapha, on Thursday, 3rd September 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Commanding Officer, 233 Tank Battalion, Nigerian Army, Damaturu Cantonment, Yobe State, Lt. Col. UG Undie.
Speaking during the visit, CN Mannir Mustapha explained that the purpose of the visit was to further strengthen the existing cordial relationship and operational synergy between the NDLEA and the Nigerian Army.
He acknowledged the important role played by the military in supporting the Agency’s operations, particularly by providing the necessary assistance during operations that require additional security and operational support.
The State Commander expressed his appreciation for the continued cooperation and support extended to the NDLEA by the Nigerian Army and emphasised the importance of maintaining the strong partnership in the collective effort to address the menace of drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking in Yobe State.
In his remarks, the Commanding Officer, 233 Tank Battalion, Nigerian Army, Damaturu Cantonment, Lt. Col. UG Undie, welcomed CN Mannir Mustapha and members of his management team to the battalion.
He described the visit as a demonstration of the NDLEA’s seriousness and commitment to tackling the menace of drug abuse and illicit drug activities in Yobe State.
Lt. Col. Undie assured the State Commander of the continued support and cooperation of the Nigerian Army, stressing that the NDLEA should not hesitate to seek military assistance whenever necessary, particularly in areas where personnel may face security challenges or hostile situations during operations.
He reaffirmed that the Nigerian Army remains ready to provide the necessary support to the NDLEA whenever required.
The visit further underscored the importance of inter-agency collaboration and the need for security agencies to continue working together towards ensuring a safer and drug-free Yobe State.
