The Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) is set to convene the 4th Nigeria GovTech Conference 2026 as part of efforts to accelerate digital transformation and improve public-sector service delivery in Nigeria.
The two-day conference is scheduled for October 13–14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall, State House, Presidential Villa, Abuja, with the theme: “Advancing Digital Government: Scaling Digital Public Infrastructure for Effective Governance and Service Delivery.”
The conference will bring together senior government officials, policymakers, technology leaders, development partners, academics and private-sector innovators to explore how digital technologies and shared digital infrastructure can strengthen public institutions and enhance government services.
A key focus of the conference will be building partnerships around digital public infrastructure, institutional capacity, innovation and the deployment of technology to make government services more efficient, accessible and responsive to citizens.
In preparation for the event, the BPSR is engaging strategic stakeholders, including Tobran Iram, Programme Officer for Digital Economy from the European Union (EU), on opportunities to partner with the Bureau for the 2026 GovTech Conference and related digital-government initiatives.
The engagement is expected to explore areas of collaboration, technical support, knowledge exchange and other opportunities that could strengthen the conference and contribute to Nigeria’s broader digital transformation agenda.
Established in 2004, the BPSR serves as the Federal Government’s central agency for initiating, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating public-service reforms across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). The Bureau also supports policy, institutional and governance reform processes.
As part of its reform efforts, the Bureau has developed digital platforms to enhance public-service delivery, including the National Strategy for Public Service Reforms (NSPSR) App, Repository Tool and Reform Tracker. It also deployed the first electronic Freedom of Information portal on a government website.
The 2026 GovTech Conference is therefore expected to provide a platform for stakeholders to build on these reform efforts, exchange practical experiences and identify scalable digital solutions for a more efficient and citizen-centred public service.
The Bureau has invited relevant government institutions, development partners, technology companies, academia, civil society and other stakeholders to participate in the conference and contribute to shaping Nigeria’s digital-government future.
