The Newly posted Maiduguri Zonal Commander of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC, ACE I Naibi Nuhu Aliyu, has called on staff to operate with integrity, professionalism and the rule of law in the discharge of official duties.
Aliyu, who assumed duty on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 urged staff to adhere to the core values of the EFCC on integrity, professionalism, collaboration and courage in the discharge of duties at all times.
Before his posting to Maiduguri, Aliyu was the Director of Ethics and Integrity and he took the mantle of leadership from Head of Investigation ACE I Suleiman Na’Abba in a brief handing over ceremony attended by department and sectional heads of the Directorate.
According to Aliyu, “officers should carry out their duties with integrity at all times even when no one is seeing them. There is no way you belong to the EFCC without integrity. We should not do anything that is not in line with the ethics of the job”
“By obeying the rules and regulations of the EFCC, officers must act responsibly and obey lawful orders from their superior officers; as I will not condone indiscipline”, he said.
He further stated that, “we are EFCC and different from others. We show we are different by our actions and attitudes towards the fight against economic and financial crimes and corruption and the community.
“Staff should have self-discipline as it will lead to zero tolerance to corruption and you should resist any form of intimidation.”
In his remark, Na’abba congratulated the New Zonal Director and informed him that Head of departments and Unit Heads will support him in the discharge of duties for the achievements of the Commission’s mandate.
