Letter to Kaduna State Governor Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufai

Dear Gov Nasiru El-Rufai,

The security situation in Kaduna is worsening by the day, a clear indication of failure of your govt to secure lives and properties. This is all we can see from the surface. It might not be so completely, but as the chief security of your state, we believe everything is in your hands.

When the lives of people are not secured, I do not know what exactly will add value to them. In my most candid opinion, securing our lives and properties is more important than the Kaduna Urban Renewal. Have you been overwhelmed sir?

Have you given up on the insecurity challenges already? Today, no single person in this state feels secured. People go to bed not sure of what will happen to them before the next morning. The problems have been going up and the crimes emboldening.

I believe what we should focus on now is to channel every resources of the state to safeguarding people and their lives. Everything can wait, but securing lives can’t. It is time we have state police that should be recruited in their millions to attend to our insecurity issues.

It is time every district, every area has a security outfit, patrol vans and motorcycles that go round 24/7 in search of criminals and patrolling every area. We are tired of this sorry state. Nothing matters to us any more but our security. This, we must rise up together for.

How can Kaduna state, a state with major institutions of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force be inundated with so much insecurity? Isn’t this embarrassing and disappointing? What are we actually doing about that? You all have failed the people, and you must wake up.
