A member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, representing Ràbah Constituency (APC-Rabah), Alhaji Abdullahi Zakari Rabah, on Thursday, in Rabah town, headquarters of Rabah Local Government, empowered 200 of his constituents with N2million
Each of the beneficiaries who included women, drawn from the eleven wards of the area, was given N 10,000.
Zakari stated that, the modest gesture was aimed at alleviating the suffering of the beneficiaries.
“Most of them, especially the women, can also use the money to start up some petty businesses.
“Doing so, will greatly improve their standard of living, as well as bolster the economy of the state and that of Nigeria, by extension,” the lawmaker added.
Zakari also enumerated other constituency projects he has executives include the construction of Mosques, drainages, drifts, perimeter fencing of primary schools, including that of Gamji Girls’ College,Rabah.
Others were rehabilitation of schools, purchase of matrasses for NYSC members at GGC, Rabah, GDSS, Rabah, JSS, Rara and JSS, Yar Tsakuwa.
Other projects included assistance of Barb wires for the fencing of the cemetery at Taguwa village, donation of food items to some orphans and donation of accessories like amplifiers to Mosques across the local government,among others.
“I am also promising that, I will sustain this happy tempo, with a view to further uplift the living standard of my constituents.
“I have a contract with them and will never waiver in this direction. We have to continue to provide quality representation for our people,” Zakari said.
Also speaking, the State APC Chairman Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida, lauded the lawmaker for living above board, by emulating the leader of the party in the state, former Governor, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
Achida also said that, the day was very historic for APC in the area and the state, as the donor had proved the people right, for voting APC.
Achida stated, “We are not in anyway surprised as he has followed the footsteps of our great leader, Senator Wamakko.
“I am therefore urging Zakari to sustain this noble path, so as to continue to assist our members and uplift their standard of living.”
The APC Zonal Vice Chairman, East, Alhaji Abu Baki Illela, also commended the lawmeker for emulating Wamakko, adding, “that is why he always has the welfare of his constituents, topmost in his mind.”
A cross section of the beneficiaries lauded the Lawmaker for the unparalleled gesture, saying that, the money will largely boost their standard of living.
