A nongovernmental organisation CLEEN Foundation has expressed deep pain and shock over the death of Barr Esther Uzoma, the Convener of Situation Room, a platform of Civil Society Organisations working on Elections, Good Governance and other issues in Nigeria.
While mourning with the family, friends and colleagues of Barr. Uzoma, CLEEN Foundation said “Her demise has left a deep gap in human rights and gender activism and she would be truly missed.
“She lived a life of sacrifice and impacted so many. We pray that God will give her family and friends the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May her soul rest in peace.”
Dateline Nigeria reports that Barr. Uzoma, who was also National Coordinator of Proactive Gender Initiative, died on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 following a surgery at a hospital in Abuja.
Her family is expected to make further announcements on burial arrangements.
