The Bayero University Kano (BUK) has approved the appointment of Lamara Garba as the Head of Directorate of Public Affairs of the institution.
The appointment was announced in a statement on Saturday in Kano by BUK’s Deputy Registrar, Establishment Matters, Hajiya Binta Yahaya-Kofar-Na’isa.
Until his appointment, Garba was the Secretary, Information and Publication of the university.
Garba, a veteran journalist, had worked with the New Nigerian Newspapers and holds B. A and M. Sc in Mass Communication.
He succeeds Malam Ahmad Shehu, who is now Director, Directorate of General Administration.
