Northern governors have insisted on power shift to the South as the All Progressives Congress (APC) holds convention to elect its presidential candidate.
This is even as the national chairman of the APC Abdullahi Adamu announced Senate President Ahmad Lawan as consensus candidate.
The governors, 13 of them, spoke on Monday after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja.

Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong said the president has no anointed candidate, adding that he asked them to meet with the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party on the issue of consensus candidate.
Lalong, who is also the chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, said they informed the president of their resolution for power shift in the interest of national unity.
