
The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is tipped to win the presidential primaries at the ongoing national convention of the party, as vote counting begins.
Other aspirants who got votes in the box are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmed Lawan, former minister Rotimi Amaechi, and Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.

The sorting of votes by national delegates has commenced at the presidential primary election of the All Progressives Congress.
The ballot casting exercise to determine the fate of aspirants, which was carried out by 2,340 delegates, started at about 2.40 am and ended at 7.45 am.
How 7 aspirants stepped down for Tinubu, 1 for Osinbajo
Tinubu got the support of seven of his fellow aspirants for the ticket, with immediate past Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Senator Godswill Akpabio kicking the ball rolling.
Delegates from Akwa Ibom, over 90 of them, however, did not get to participate in the primaries due to a court order.
Six other aspirants stepped down for Tinubu. They are Sen Ibikunle Amosun; Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole; Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa; Senator Ajayi Boroffice; and the only female in the contest Uju Ken-Ohanenye.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo also got an aspirant to withdraw for him. Nicholas Felix, a Nigerian pastor based in the United States, announced that he was withdrawing from the contest to support the Vice President’s presidential ambition.
The Osinbajo Campaign Group had earlier said that three aspirants had stepped down for the Vice President.
