The Abia State Police Command has raided a criminal hideout in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area and arrested a notorious drug dealer.
The suspect was identified as Prince Chukwudi Eguzouwa, 49, of Ahiabubi, Isiala Ngwa North LGA.
This was disclosed in a press release issued on September 22, 2026, by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chioma Chinaka.
According to the statement, operatives of the Violent Response Unit and Anti-Cultism Unit, acting on actionable intelligence, on September 18, 2026, carried out a well-coordinated raid on criminal hideouts at Ahiabubi, where the suspect was apprehended.
“During the operation, bags containing substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa, ‘Scottish Loud,’ Methamphetamine, Cocaine, and other hard drugs were recovered,” the Command said.
The police said upon conclusion of investigations, on September 22, 2026, the suspect was arraigned in court and remanded in a correctional facility.
The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, reiterated the Command’s commitment to intelligence-driven policing and warned criminal elements to desist from unlawful activities.
He warned that Abia State will no longer be a safe haven for criminal activities.
