Accident: Yobe deputy gov loses daughter 4 days after son’s death

The Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Idi Barde Gubana (Wazirin Fune) has lost his daughter Khadija (Siyama), four days after the death of his 7-year-old son Mai Mala Junior as a result of road accident.

Dateline Nigeria learnt that the two and other family members of the deputy governor were involved in accident on the Maiduguri-Kano highway on Saturday, June 11. While Mai Mala Junior died on the spot four days ago, Siyama died today from the injuries she sustained in the accident.

Siyama, 16, was an SSII student of Essence International School Damaturu. She was buried today after funeral prayer at the palace of Mai Fune in Damagum.

In attendance at the funeral prayers were the Deputy Speaker Yobe State House of Assembly Mohammed Isa Bello Danchua, Secretary to the State Government Alh Baba Malam Wali, Head of Civil Service Alh Garba Bilal, and leader of the house, Hon Bukar Mustapha.

Others are the Emirs of Bade, Machina, Gujba, Pataskum, Fune, Ngelzarma, Jajere and the representatives of other traditional rulers.

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni had earlier prayed for repose of the soul of his namesake and the quick recovery of those who sustained injuries in the accident.
