
Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Wednesday presided over Executive Council meeting and approved over N233 million to procure farm inputs and chemicals for 2021 and 2022 farming season. The Executive Council meeting was held in Government House, Yola.
The inputs include atrazine, sprayers, paraquat, and imidacloprid among others will be procured immediately by the contracting firm, UG Agro Technology Limited.

Speaking shortly after the meeting, the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Dr Umar Garba revealed that the inputs will be procured from the best manufacturers and sold at subsidized rate to farmers for both wet and dry season farming so that it will improve Agricultural produce in Adamawa State.
In the same vein, the Commissioner of Agriculture, Hon Umaru Iya Daware stated that the inputs will support crops that have multiple cycle of production such as rice, maize and sorghum among others.
Hon. Daware applauded Governor Fintiri for his commitment to supporting agriculture which will help the State to achieve food security.
