ADC’s Isa Ashiru meets El-Rufai amid ‘leaked audio’ controversy

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Kaduna State, Hon. Isa Ashiru Kudan, has met with former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai.

The meeting, which was disclosed by Isa Ashiru on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday, is coming the wake of a leaked audio in which he allegedly dismissed El-Rufai and said he was only in the ADC to get to the Government House.

“Today, I met with my brother Mallam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai CON. Our conversation has only deepened our resolve. The ADC in Kaduna is not merely ready, we are fully ABLE to dislodge the incompetent APC-led administration that has failed the good people of our state.

“Enough of the hardship, enough of the excuses. With unity, courage and the will of the people, we will rescue Kaduna and restore justice, development and dignity. Kaduna! 2027 is our year of redemption,” Ashiru posted.

Meeting Comes Amid Leaked Audio Controversy
The meeting comes weeks after an alleged leaked audio recording involving Ashiru and a Southern Kaduna elder Gen. Zamani Lekwot, which went viral on social media.

The authenticity of the recording has not been established, but it is generating mixed reactions.

Ashiru was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019 and 2023, and the ADC is banking on a united opposition front to challenge the APC in 2027.

Neither the Kaduna State Government nor the APC had reacted to Ashiru’s latest remarks at the time of filing this report.
