Ado endorses Rep Ottah Agbo for another term

It was a harvest of endorsements for the Honourable Member representing Ado/ Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency, Dr Francis Ottah Agbo, as communities, groups and associations from the 10 Wards in Ado Local Government Area gave him the go ahead to go for another term.

Communities, groups and associations as well as critical stakeholders gave the endorsements at a town hall meeting with the Honourable Member in Igumale, the headquarters of Ado LGA of Benue State, on Sunday.

Traditional rulers, party leaders, community leaders, stakeholders as well as heads of the various groups and associations that spoke at the occasion, held that the Lawmaker, popularly known as the Ozigizaga and Moving Train of Enone has performed excellently well in his first tenure and deserves another term.

Dignitaries that spoke at the occasion include Hon. Patrick Ogbu, a PDP governorship aspirant who commended the Lawmaker on how he has impacted positively on the lives of the people of his constituency within a short period of time.

The former chairman of NTA said there’s no doubt that Dr. Ottah Agbo has done well adding that endorsing him for another term is the right thing to do.

He said, “If you have a son who is doing well you will support him to continue, so I endorse and present him to you to support him for a second term.”

Chairman of PDP in Ado LGA, Hon. Steve Aluna on his part commended the Lawmaker known as the Cicero of Enone and urged the people to support him to return to parliament.

The Acting Ad’Ado Dr. Julius Iguve in his remark on behalf of the other traditional rulers at the occasion, described Dr. Ottah Agbo as a commited and hard working legislator and gave him his royal blessings.

PDP Assistant State Secretary, Ms. Rose Ameh, said no Lawmaker has ever done what Dr. Ottah Agbo has done and urged the people to support him.

There were messages of solidarity expressing support and endorsement for the Lawmaker by youth and women groups, teachers, local government employees, commercial motorcycle riders, market associations and others .

While responding, Dr. Ottah Agbo, who is the chairman of the Narcotic Drugs Committee and Spokesman of the Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives, thanked the people for the show of love and solidarity.

He enunciated the number of bills and motions he has so far sponsored in the House of Representatives for the good governance of the country; the numerous projects he has executed in his constituency; the empowerment/human capital developments initiatives he has embarked on for his people, as well as the federal jobs he has secured for his constituents within two years.

Dr. Ottah Agbo assured the people that he does not take for granted the mandate given to him saying that is why he has committed to serve in earnest so as to improve the lot of the people.

He said Ado will soon host the zonal command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, which will help in addressing the security challenges in the Constituency.

The Lawmaker said he has been able to achieve this much because of the support from the people and promised to do more when given the chance.

The event was chaired by Chief Patrick Ogbu, Governorship Aspirant and Ado PDP Campaign Chairman, Hon. Steve Aluna.

All Traditional Rulers led by the acting First Class Chief of Enone, Chief Joseph Ochikor and the acting Ada’ Ado, Chief Julius Iguve led all the Traditional Rulers in Ado to grace the occasion and spoke glowingly about Dr. Ottah Agbo!

All former Ado Council Chiarmen especially Chief Anthony Ogoro, Chief Oche Otokpa, Barr. Otokpa Onoja, Hon Alex Ogaba, Hon Blessing Unogwu, Hon Abel Onazi, were also at the occasion.
Former Commissioner of Agriculture and Education, Chief John Omanchi, 2nd Republic House of Assembly Members, Rt. Hon Elias Ekpiri and Chief Charles Otsima were also there.

Others include six serving Councillors in Ado LGC (Hon Patience Egwurube, Hon Adai Adikwu, Hon Kingsley Adamu Ogbu, Hon Matthew Ugwuru, Hon Sunday Aboh & Isaac Ochanya Kizito) and three Supervisory Councillors and 35 former Councillors in Ado, while the former Councillors were led to the interaction by Prince Sunday Ochapa.

All former Ado PDP executives led by the former Chairman, Hon Augustine Ogbu were on ground. Similarly, all former Vice Chairmen, Legislative Council Leaders and Secretaries of Council were led to the Town Hall meeting by Hon. Kenneth Agada, Hon. Monday Ikor and Hon. Paul Aga.

Governor Ortom’s appointees like Engr. Mike Ojah, Hon Emmanuel Oche, Hon. Emmanuel Ogaba, Mrs Elizabeth Oche Onminyi were also there.

Others are Engr. Fidelis Okpali, Barr Ochapa Onazi, Hon Jane Ikese, Hon. Mathew Ejeh Ogaba, Hon Samuel Agbo, Mr. George Edeh, Mrs Charity Ochonu, Mr. Ugbo Ekpe, and a host of others.

The Honourable Member also made cash donations and distributed bags of rice to his constituents.
