Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has visited Malam Ahmed Abubakar Zakka, his wife Nafisah, and their daughter Fatima, at the Kaduna State Government safe house where they are receiving medical care after regaining freedom from kidnappers.
Governor Sani disclosed the visit in a statement on Monday, October 20, 2026, saying he was encouraged by the family’s progress and hopeful of their full recovery.
The governor said their ordeal is a painful reminder of the human cost of insecurity and the responsibility of government to protect lives and restore peace.
He assured the family of continued government support beyond the visit, pledging that the state government will provide them with a house, cover all medical expenses, and ensure sustained psychosocial care to help them rebuild their lives.
According to him, their freedom strengthens the administration’s resolve to confront banditry and other criminality through closer cooperation with security agencies, stronger security coordination and deeper community engagement.
Governor Sani thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his personal engagement and concern for the family’s safety, and commended the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, and security agencies for their role in securing the family’s release.
He added that Malam Ahmed expressed gratitude to the Federal and Kaduna State Governments and security agencies for their efforts and compassion, and expressed confidence in his recovery.
