APC suspends Sharada ward chairman, clears Rep Sha’aban

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the chairman of Sharada ward Abdullahi Umar for alleged misconduct, even as it reversed the suspension of Rep Ibrahim Sharada (APC, Kano Municipal).

The suspension was contained in a statement signed by the 19 executives of APC in Sharada ward on Thursday.

The executives dismissed the suspension of Rep Sha’aban, saying it did not follow due process and the lawmaker was not given fair hearing.

‘’The people that denied him to revalidate his Membership Card are the same people who claimed to have suspended him from the party.

“All these are done to him for the massive support he has been getting and receiving from the populace of his constituency in Municipal Local Government of the State,’’ the statement said.

The statement said “On behalf of the majority members of the Excos whose affixed their signature had agreed and suspended the party interim chairman of Sharada Ward Abdullahi Umar and replaced him with Ibrahim Mu’azu (Birai) for his mischief and denied the majority of the executives of their constitutional rights to be part of any decision-making processes.

“We the undersigned executive members and by the power conferred upon us by the provision of Article 11 of All Progressive Congress Constitution (as amended) as part of the party organs hereby shown our loyalty and solidarity to Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada, and we are still solidly casting our vote of confidence to him as per the provision of Article 9 which stipulates for the membership of any member of the party.

The executive has also constituted another disciplinary committee headed by Mukkata Bala Tanka Tukuntawa as  Chairman and Halliru Habibu (Rawi) Sharada as Secretary.

“We agreed to formed a new disciplinary committee and charged them to proceed and take the necessary disciplinary and legal action against Sani Fata Sharada APC caretaker Kano Municipal Local Government for his effort to conspired to bring disunity within the party leadership at Sharada ward for his personal and selfish interest,” the statement said
