An Army Lance Corporal Yakubu Kotri has been arrested while driving a Gulf car loaded with Cannabis Sativa weighing 208 kilograms, Dateline Nigeria reports.
L/Cpl Yakubu Kotri, of 202 Battalion Bama, was arrested on Wednesday 29 December 2021; on his way to Bama, Borno State.
“Upon interception and car chase, his accomplice on the persenger side of the car, escaped. The L/cpl crashed the vehicle and it had to be towed to NDLEA Borno State Command.
“He was armed with his service rifle and 56 rounds of live ammunition. NDLEA officers were able to quickly disarm him without incident.”
Dateline Nigeria learnt that the NDLEA was yet to notify the military authorities of the soldier’s arrest at the time of filing this report.
