The Nigerian Army has wiped away the tears of an octogenarian and a former soldier, Ex-63NA/8725 Warrant Officer, Paul Ojo and his family.

Ojo was presented a 3-Bedroom bungalow located at Number 26, Yakowa Street, Anguwan Galadima, Kaduna, on the orders of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division of the Nigerian Army Major General Usman Shehu Mohammed made the presentation on behalf of the army.

The 85-year-old veteran was on August 17 evicted out of his 2 bedroom apartment at Number L2, KASUPDA Quarters, Kabala Costain, Kaduna North Local Government Area by the Kaduna State Government.

Ojo thanked the Chief of Army Staff for wiping away his tears, saying “I was ejected from my two bedroom house, they scattered my things but today, the Chief of Army Staff has made it possible for me to live in the type of house I never hope I will be able to build.”

Residents of the KASUPDA Quarters were evicted because the property have been sold to new owners, the state authorities say.
