Arts, science, other faculties to benefit from TETFund solar power project – FUD VC

The Vice-Chancellor Federal University Dutse, Prof. Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed, has said that the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Agriculture and Science are to benefit from the first phase of the TETfund N108m zonal intervention for the provision of solar power in the university.

The VC, who disclosed this in his 10th matriculation speech, said once this alternative power source is provided, it will reduce the dependence on the national grid and enhance the quality of teaching, learning and research in the university.

He said the first phase of the solar power project would also be extended to the University Health Centre and the University Library because these facilities requires 24 hours electricity supply .

Prof. Abdulkarim said that the phase two of the project will take care of other faculties and facilities in the university.

It would be recalled that the Ministry of Works and Housing has recently commenced the installation of 96 solar street light in the university and by the time TETfund project is completed, the university will wear a new look.
