Residents of Ruwan Tofa community in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State said bandits have razed their houses and abducted over 60 people.
“This problem has worsened, even two days ago were attacked. They burnt our houses, vehicles and shops. They have burnt half of the community,” a resident who sought anonymity told BBC Hausa service.

The resident said no life was lost but the bandits shot a man who is now receiving treatment at a hospital.
“The went away with women and children including the four wives of one person. They also abducted the ward head and his family,” he added.
Another resident said 15 people comprising men and women inclusing children, adding that “they also stole my 90 bags of sorghum inside a vehicle.”
“We sought help from security agents twice but they did not come and we had to flee the town,” he said.
BBC said it contacted the Zamfara State Police Command but they were yet to respond.
