The Village Head of Mazoji in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State (Sarkin Fulanin Fafu) Alhaji Dikko Usman Mazoji has been killed by bandits in the early hours of Saturday.
Fahad Dikko Mazoji, a son of the deceased, announced the killing of his father on his Facebook page on Saturday.
Dateline Nigeria reports that the bandits reportedly killed the traditional ruler and left unchallenged.
The killing of Mazoji followed a similar incident where the district head of Yantumaki in Danmusa Local Government Area Abubakar Atiku Maidabino was shot dead by bandits few days ago.
The police in Katsina were not immediately available for comment
