Bauchi to reconstruct federal road linking N/Eastern states

Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has promised to embark on massive road constructions and rehabilitation in the state.

He especially mentioned the federal road from the state capital to Alkaleri local government area, linking Gombe, Adamawa Taraba and parts of Borno and Yobe states in a quest to reduce accidents and ease transportation challenges.

The Governor stated this on Tuesday in Alkaleri where he presented the PDP Flag to the party’s candidate in Alkaleri LG and official reception of some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who defected to the PDP ahead of the LG election slated for Saturday, October 17, 2020.

Governor Bala called for the support of PDP candidates for the sustainance of the provision of social services across the state

He said his administration has braced itself against all odds to conduct LG election despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the state’s lean resources.

The governor said conducting the council election, which has not been done in 12 years, is a campaign promise he made to voters that must be fulfilled regardless of the paucity of funds.

The Chairman of the PDP in the State, Alhaji Hamzam Korshi Akuyam, appealed to the people to come out in large numbers and vote for the party.

Alhaji Babayo Futuk, retired Permanent Secretary, who spoke on behalf of the APC decampees, said they decided to join the PDP because they were impressed with the performance of the Mohammed administration within one year in office.

“We feel we should come and support you in your quest to move Bauchi State to greater heights. We are not surprised because we know your antecedents and that is why we come to openly identify with you,” Kumbala, said.
