Bawa visits EFCC staff in Maiduguri, assures them of adequate training

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, on Tuesday, reiterated his commitment to staff training and retraining for improved efficiency and effectiveness in the discharge of their duties.

“Staff training and re-training is paramount to achieving our goals and objectives, and this has given birth to the rehabilitation and remodeling of the EFCC Academy. EFCC as a security agency must equip its men effectively for adequate service delivery”.

Bawa who was speaking during a visit to the Maiduguri Zonal Office, briefed the staff on the renovation work currently going on at the EFCC Academy and highlighted some of the reforms and reorganization already executed since he assumed office.

He commended staff of the Maiduguri office for their dedication to duty, despite the security situation and challenges in the Northeast.

“We are aware of the security situation here and I am impressed with what I have seen in this Zone given the challenges. We promise to do everything possible to keep you safe and have a conducive working environment”, he said.

He urged staff to uphold the ethics of the Commission and display professionalism and integrity at all time.

“If you think you cannot do what the laws of the land expect us to do, kindly resign and leave us alone”, he declared.

Aisha Yerima, Head, Administration, on behalf of the Zonal Head, Onwukwe Obiora, thanked the chairman for coming to the zone, assuring that staff of the zone will not disappoint him in the discharge of their duties.
