In a bid to enhance the impact of its investments and prioritize local-level support, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) Senior Program Officer for Primary Health Care Systems Strengthening, Oludare Bodunrin, today led a team from the foundation to discuss the BMGF’s interventions performance management in Kaduna State.

To this end the team engaged in a learning visit to identify areas that require increased investment and attention.

Deputy Governor Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe warmly received the BMGF team in her office and shared valuable insights regarding the impact of BMGF’s investment on the state’s PHC system and areas that need review and increased attention.

During the meeting, Bodunrin emphasized BMGF’s commitment to supporting the Kaduna State Bureau for Statistics in data collection and accessibility for effective planning of PHC interventions at the ward and local levels.

This collaboration aims to ensure that resources are allocated strategically and tailored to meet the unique needs of each local area.

Furthermore, BMGF expressed readiness to review the PHC Service Delivery Plan (SDP) in order to facilitate targeted interventions based on the specific requirements of different local areas.

As KDSG and BMGF deepen their existing partnership, it is anticipated that Kaduna State will experience significant progress in its primary healthcare system and outcomes, ultimately benefitting the lives of its residents.
