A 12-year-old boy has died after a car he was driving crashed in the Republic of Ireland.
The car, which belonged to the boy’s parents, collided with a lorry near the village of Adare, County Limerick, just before 02:00 local time on Friday.
The boy, whose parents are understood to be Polish, was alone and driving the car.
The lorry driver, a man in his 40s, was not seriously injured but is said to be in a state of shock.
It is understood the boy had been living in Newcastle West in the county for some time.
Gardaí (Irish police) have cordoned off the scene, on the N21 at Rineroe, for forensic examination.
They are appealing for witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage to come forward.
