4 killed, students abducted from Agric college in Zamfara

Gunmen have killed four people and abducted unspecified number of students from College of Agriculture and Animal Science in Bakura, Zamfara State.

A deputy registrar at the college Malam Aliyu Bakura confirmed the incident to BBC Hausa.

He said the gunmen killed four people including a policeman and three other security guards.

“It happened on Sunday around 10pm when the gubmen stormed the scholl and started shooting sporadically. They abducted 15 students, a teacher, his wife and two children.

Malam Aliyu said the gunmen were many, adding that they scaled the fence and spent more than two hours in the college.

The Zamfara State Police Command is not immediately available for comment.

Two years ago, gunmen stormed the same school where they abducted the wife of an official.
