An elder statesman, who headed President Muhammadu Buhari’s transition committee in 2015 Alhaji Ahmed Joda has passed on at the age of 91.
He died after a protracted illness, family sources confirmed to Dateline Nigeria. He was buried in Yola, Adamawa State in accordance with Islamic rites.
Born in February 1930, Ahmed Joda was a Nigerian administrator who rose through the administrative cadre of the Northern regional government and then the federal civil service to retire as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industries.
During the administration of the youthful Yakubu Gowon, he was considered to be among a group known as super Permanent Secretaries.
