Buba Marwa assumes duty as NDLEA chairman

The new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), retired Brigadier General Mohammad Buba Marwa has formally assumed office.

Marwa, at an inaugural address at the NDLEA headquarters on Monday in Abuja, unveiled his plans.

He vowed to overhaul and expand the NDLEA in line with the recommendations of the Presidential Advisory Committee for the Elimination of Drug Abuse (PACEDA) which he headed between 2018 and 2020.

Marwa, a former military administrator of Lagos and Borno states, warned those “who engage in the dastardly trade of importation, export, cultivation, processing, manufacture, trafficking, sale and consumption of illicit substances to stop forthwith.”

He also promised to address the outstanding issues of stagnation in rank, trainings, postings and due emoluments as priority.
